ANALYSING SHOTS FROM THE FILM "HEAT" ( THRILLER)





When a low angle shot is used it makes the character look more powerful and intimidating than others. Perhaps this can make the audience feel less powerful and weak.



An eye level shot was used to create eye contact between the character and the audience, this makes them feel frightened as they feel like they are being threatened



A close up shot was used here to show the importance of the scene. This makes the audience focus and concentrate




An Extreme close- up shot was used here to create the scene that magnifies beyond human eyes can see. This scene will leave the audience with questions what is it that the character really thinking.


when a high angle level shot is used all the characters usually get swallowed by the setting and every character and object can be shown one scene


A bird’s eye view was used here to make the audience feel weak and is being watched over from above.



Point of view was used here to make the audience feel that they are actually being character in the movie, to make the audience see what the characters see.
